Cider

A year ago Pancake, who belongs to my brother and his family, went home to England.  Pancake lived with us for a year, but it felt much longer.  She fit right in, and was the best guest! An avid mouser. She always came to greet people when they entered her room.  Pancake was not fan of canine's, so she live in what is now called "Pancake's Suite".  By the end of her stay she was coming around, going out onto the porch, and she even came into see pearl's new born puppies.  The dog's became less of an issue.  Needless to say pancake left a yearning for an orange, female, tiger kitty.

I looked for a while, but let it go, because of the dogs, puppies, birds, and many other reasons.  I figured when the right kitty came along I would be ready.  Well, the right kitty did come along, still I was not ready.   Cider is her name. She was exactly what I was looking for - an orange female tiger with a cute name, and she is only a year old.  I called my friend, who recently lost her kitty to cancer. I figured between the two of Cider would get a home, and either way she would still be a part of my life.  SO - Cider was rescued from the humane society.

Cider - Our first meeting

At home wanting attention

Willow Sunshine and Pearl, "she's equipped with weapons! Is she staying long?"

She is the most remarkable kitty.  Not only does she adjust to new surroundings quickly, and with ease, she travels pretty well for a cat. Her hunting skills are magnificent, she loves to snuggle, comes when she is called, and suckles your armpit (leaving your shirt wet). She will ask to drink from the faucet, and comes running when its canine feeding time.  She can handle herself well around the dogs.    I am so happy she has such an excellent home with my friend.

Sometimes the timing isn't right, but that 's just the time to make it so.

Canada 2015

Peak-A-Boo  Gang at Devonsleigh

It was  three a day trip this year, with a mission.  Willow Sunshine was bred to Johnny.  We left from Hancock, NH with a car load of labradors: Nash and his sister Ziggy (15 years old), Pearl and Willow Sunshine (in heat).  Nash n Ziggy were taken care of  by a friend CT. The girls and I drove up to Norwood early the next morning.  Making excellent time in 9 1/2 hours from Guilford.  One stop for gas, one stop at the duty free shop.  We breezed through the crossing.  Weather was fantastic for driving, clear and sunny.

Dinner Sunday was fantastic at Cheryl and Terry's.  Missed you Jen.  Damon is handsome as ever.  He's matured a lot in the past year.  His expression reminds me of Pearl, while his body is very much like Nash.  Ripply and Damon were well behaved considering they had a girl in heat on their property.   The trip felt different without Nash and Ma.  There presence missed.

The full moon on Sunday was a great show, but I missed the lunar eclipse of the harvest moon.  At least I got to see the moon rise and set, and then turn around and watch the sun rise.

I wonder, what are the implications of breeding on a full moon that was harvest moon, blue moon too I think, and total lunar eclipse? Two ties.  If all goes as planned.  Pups November 28th.  My little girl might be a mama.

Thanks again to my Canadian friends for a wonderful time, great hospitality, and until next time - be well.

River Dog

"Lets give it a try."

"Pull that rope there."

I did, and the raft responded with easy.

Temptation...

I pulled again. I didn't intend to go far.

Temptation - Curiosity...

No one is around, who cares?

I pull again, and again.

Willow Sunshine bounds through the shallow swampy water, and deftly leaps onto the small raft.

Excitement...

This is so cool!
My dog is fearless.  love this dog!

Infectious...

I pull on the rope again, and again.

We are half way across the river - it wasn't deep water, but still - the Freedom.

If we were caught  I'd say:  "My dog made me do it!"

What would it matter anyway?

Freedom...

My dog and Me - I love her joyous rebellion. She has no bounds, unlike me.  She helps we release.

  We explore. Head back.

I tell my friend to try with her dog. He's not so much of a water dog. He does swim though.

Willow Sunshine game, and gives it another whorl.

 It's joy. It's water. It's HER Element.

What did her cards read for Sagittarius?
(Willow Sunshine's sign)

Independence, crave adventure and excitement, philosopher, and explorer

Sagittarius will  go as far as the path will go, and explore every ridge in their eternal search for wisdom.

Sagittarius make loyal friends. Their encouraging positive temperament, and loving heart, will do anything to make certain their friend is happy.

It is this precise nature which she exemplifies,
my "River Dog".
